Data management

The process of preparing and cleaning data for Moorings was documented in a detailed log that was kept of changes made to the raw data. Some of the changes are listed below. They are some of the entries recorded in a separate worksheet ´Log´ alongside the other worksheets containing the data in CS7Data. A log file is important because it ensures that all changes that have been made to the original records are recorded; this is recommended practice and is especially helpful when one wishes to replicate the process or explain differences between the original and edited data files.

It was also found during the cross-checking that some of the monthly total data supplied by Moorings had been copied or pasted incorrectly. See CS7Data for the complete workbook log file.
